The Rev. Dr. Jay Emerson Johnson
Rector
Fr. Jay was called as the 22nd rector of All Saints’ Parish in May, 2020. He was born in Ann Arbor, MI, grew up outside of Chicago, and after graduating from Wheaton College and Nashotah House Episcopal Seminary, he was ordained to the priesthood in 1988. He served as a parish priest in the Diocese of Chicago for three years before moving to Berkeley, CA, to work on a PhD in theology, which he completed in 1998. Before moving back “home” to Michigan, Jay served as a member of the associate clergy at the Church of the Good Shepherd since 1992 and as a member of the faculty at Pacific School of Religion and the Graduate Theological Union since 2003, all in Berkeley. Jay happily shares his life with Judah, an Australian shepherd dog.

The Rev. Francis Berghuis, OBL OSB
Parish Deacon
Deacon Francis began serving at All Saints’ immediately after his diaconal ordination in June of 2018. A cradle Episcopalian and Navy veteran he is a graduate of the Iona Collaborative / Seminary of the Southwest and EFM (Education for Ministry). In November 2004 he was received as an oblate of the monastic order of Benedictines (under the auspices of The Episcopal Church) at St. Gregory’s in Three Rivers, Michigan, following years of formation as a contemplative in the Benedictine tradition

Sally Rietveld
Parish Administrator
Sally started at ASEC in November 2021, after retiring from a career in bank management. She and her husband, Wally, are 25-year residents of Saugatuck, where they raised their son, Andy. In addition to working at All Saints’, Sally serves as the Board President at the Holland Free Health Clinic, which covers Ottawa and Allegan counties.
