A Sacred Covenant for All

Holy Matrimony

The Meaning of Marriage

A Covenantal Life of Love and Fidelity

Marriage is one of life’s great joys — a public promise of love, commitment, and partnership. In the presence of God, family, and friends, couples enter into a sacred covenant that will shape their life together for years to come. At All Saints’, marriage is for ALL parishioners who seek it.

The Episcopal Church has engaged in a shared process of reflection and study, stretching over several decades, concerning the role of marriage in the life of the Church. This process was prompted in part by the desire among many to affirm and “bless” the covenantal relationships of same-sex couples and, indeed, to appreciate these relationships as marriages like any other.

At All Saints’, the rite of Holy Matrimony is reserved for active members of this parish and their immediate families.
